My Breathing Illness (Or Lack Of)

I suffer of chronic gastritis/GERD and sometimes I wake up feeling something is blocking my throat and I cannot breath.

What Happened

I sit up straight, dizzy and all, walk to the water pipe in my bathroom and drink a glass of water. This opens the throat and I can breath again but still with a little feeling of something in my throat. Then I sleep again.

Lessons Learned

  • Not to panic.
  • Its probably acid/food reflux.
  • I do not have to overeat or eat after 6 pm.
  • This is frustrating because all dinner party's are out of the question.

Rod Brouhard, First Aid Guide, says:

Shortness of breath has so many causes that all sorts of chronic conditions can lead to trouble breathing. Just as there are so many causes, there are just as many tricks to feel better. What works for one, may or may not work for others.
