Don't Sleep on an Icepack

My upper back

Don't Sleep on an Icepack

That mark that looks like a hole or bite, really hurts

Where I got frostbite

My back. A little below my head, down my back

What happened

I often sleep on an ice pack to relieve arthritis pain. This afternoon, I suddenly felt a burning/biting sensation in the middle of my back. I pressed several areas, and several places on my back were sore. My husband checked my back and said it was frost bite. I don't understand why it took perhaps 12 hours for me to feel any pain. It now feels like a BURN. I haven't had it treated, but if its worse in the morning, I will seek treatment.

Lessons Learned

  • If you are using an ice pack...make sure it is wrapped in material, and don't sleep on it!
