Why I think it's a spider bite
I actually caught a glimpse of the creature(s) scurrying away. There seems to be an infestation of 2-3 species. They were crawling the walls, carpet and bed. We found an infestation of them under the bed and several dead in the plastic. Some were round do-do brown with a round head, some gray & long; had 6 legs.
What happened
I went to a picnic played badmitton in grass for 30 min. Noticed several red welps on forearm. Next day woke up with more on other parts of body. Thereafter every day woke up with more & more bites on body listed above. Did not itch at first but then very itchy. Noticed they bite in straight lines & occasional cluster. Applied hydrocortisone & they turned into blisters. I did not go to dr because out of town (ins concerns) but almost did. I took pictures of at least 2 (species or forms). They did not seem to bite my male companion. They congregated in very large patches under the mattress on the floor/rug extending all the way across width of bed!
Advice
- Started getting bit very first day I arrived & cont to get bit profusely every day
- bites did not itch at first but then itched profusely
- bites were always in lines of 4-6 bites in a row & occasional groups
- There were big red welps & bumps, when 2.5% hydrocortisone cream applied, turned to blisters. 1% only eased the itch
- A few of the blisters actually formed SHAPE of the bugs!
- I was the one on the menu--the main course! They didn't appear to bite my male partner!
- We sprayed, vacuumed & bombed, many remained, followed us to closet
- I should've left right away to avoid getting bit up all over
