Gets Worse with Time

Was way worse yesterday, but still irritated today.

Tell us where your bite is (arm, leg, nose, whatever)

Arm

Why I think it's a spider bite

This is a picture of the third day. First day, no symptoms. Second day, redness spread, swollen, hardened, sore, red and swollen area had a fever and a bad itch. Today, redness is extremely reduced but the fever and itch is persisting.

What happened

I didn't notice the bite the first day until someone actually pointed it out. It was red, but had no irritation, hence me not noticing it. I kept an eye on it, and it seemed fine until the next day. It got very irritated and hurt worse.

I think there is a bug in my house because my mother has had two like this. It's a cluster of blister looking bites -- multiple bites in same area. I have no idea what bug is doing this, but I have reason to believe it's a spider. Obviously, it's not dangerous but I'm hoping somebody can identify it.

I looked up bites and none really fit, except for classic spider bite symptoms. The only mystery is why there is a cluster and not just one solitary bite. I'm not going to the doctor because I'm not allergically reacting, and i heal fast. It's only day three and this is much much better.

Advice

  • Dont scratch no matter how much it itches. It will only make your bite burn worse.
  • I don't think i had an allergic reaction because my symptoms are not nearly as bad as some already shown on the site, but if you think you have an allergic reaction, see a doctor.

Rod Brouhard, First Aid Guide, says:

Whether you go to the doctor or not is up to you, but whenever a lesion seems to get worse over the course of a day or two, going to the doctor is not a bad idea. Often, people never know what, if anything, bit them.
