We never thought we could benefit from such a system nor did we really understand what medical alarms were. We remembered the "Help, I've fallen and can't get up," commercials from years ago but did not fully understand what medical alarms were capable of doing, until October 2010 when my Dad did not have one. He laid on the floor for 13 hours with no help nor could he get up.
Thank God the mailman saw him through a window, laying there unconscious. Dad's life was saved but he was in the hospital for 4 weeks, currently he's still going through rehab and the medical bills have past $150k.
When we left the hospital we were recommended to several types of medical alarm providers. However, never hearing about any of the companies recommended nor knowing little about the industry, I called my doctor friend at UPMC and he said to research Automated Security Alert.
He said that he has heard great things about them and the UPMC staying at home program uses them. So, I did my due-diligence and found out that they have a great reputation and I called them.
From my very first call with Zach and then when Eric came to install the system and now the monthly follow up call, the complete experience has been great. Dad has used the medical alarm once since they installed it and he received help immediately and was able to stay in his home and we did not occur more expensive hospital bills.
Automated Security Alert is giving my family the peace of mind and security we have been looking for but did not know where to find it or what we really needed. Thanks Automated Security Alert!
