The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) released a web based computer game aimed at teaching kids how to prepare for disasters. It's kind of cute, but I'm not sure how much learning kids will do with the game by itself.
It's called Disaster Hero and you are competing against other disaster responders for a spot on the team. I played it for a while on my computer but it ran really slow for me. I'm not sure if that was my problem or ACEP's, but I had a hard time following the story because of it.
As a conversation starter, it has potential. There are links to resources for parents and teachers on the home page. Overall, it's a cute way to introduce kids to disaster preparedness.
