An ambulance was struck by a woman running a red light early Saturday morning in Indianapolis, Indiana. The driver of the ambulance, Private Timothy C. McCormick, died at the scene. His partner, Specialist Cody Medley, was transported to the hospital with reported head injuries and died the next day.
My thoughts are with the families - both professional and personal - of these two men. They weren't responding to a call for service, but they were in the performance of their duties on the road at a dangerous hour of the day. A public memorial service for both crew members is being held Wednesday, February 20 at 10 am in Clowes Memorial Hall at Butler University, 4602 Sunset Ave in Indianapolis.
