I know I regularly comment on celebrity emergency medical issues, but I'm not always so good at following the news. Until he died, I was unaware that last month Michael Clarke Duncan had a heart attack that resulted in cardiac arrest. His girlfriend, Omarosa, reportedly performed CPR and revived him.
There have been some reports that he had some brain damage after being resuscitated. That's common. In fact, it's rare to be resuscitated from cardiac arrest without any damage to the brain. It's even less common to be resuscitated with CPR alone. It's usually a whole process, starting with immediate CPR, early defibrillation and advanced cardiovascular life support administered by emergency personnel. If he had any chance at all, Omarosa gave it to him through quick action.
Duncan was apparently still in the hospital from his first heart attack when he died.
