One study says over 55,000 of us were attacked by a computer from 1994-2006. I'm not talking about blurry vision from too many hours of World of Warcraft; I mean full-blown vicious attacks necessitating a trip the emergency department.
Have you been attacked by a computer at home or at work? What's your most embarrassing or dangerous scuffle with a snapping laptop? Were you caught by the power cord spiderweb?

Share the AttackDeadly Modem...
- This happened to a friend, but luckily no one was hurt! There was a distant thunderstorm going on and nearest her ISP could figure is lightning struck the ground somewhere and traveled through her DSL line. When it reached her DSL modem it exploded. Pieces through around the room, computer - everything was fried. The end of the cord was even blackened!

Reptitive Stress
- In trying to "write" a lot of new content, I developed a deep rooted wrist pain. Luckily this was over a year ago and I am fine now. Does that qualify as a vicious attack?

Pinchy, Pinchy
- It didn't make require a trip to the hospital, but my laptop did pinch my finger once and make it bleed profusely. Of course, if I had been more careful, it wouldn't have happened!

Daughter, meet laptop power brick
- When my daughter was only a week old, I was working on my laptop sitting on my bed. My daughter was laying on the bed next to me. In an attempt to get more comfortable, I tried to move the power cable to the other side of her. While I was moving it, the power cord came out of the power brick, and the brick swung from where I was holding the cord and hit the baby in the head. She was not happy, we took her to the emergency room. She was fine, just a bit upset.

Major Cut
- I work on computers for a living so obviously the chance of getting injured goes way up someone like me. I've had several small run-ins with computers but the biggest was a large cut thanks to the sharp metal on an old PC case. ER, stitches and all. And it hurt.
