Rope Burn (Friction Burn)

What happened

I was rock climbing in Wisconsin (lead climbing) and fell about 20 feet, below the last clip. The position of the belayer and the rope caused me to have my leg rub against the rope multiple times. I did not go to the hospital, but immediately cleaned the wound with disinfectant and covered it with gauze and neosporin when I could. The burn started oozing yellow puss and the inflammation and redness occurred the next day (this is when the picture is from).

What I'd Do Differently

Wear pants when lead climbing!
