Mallet finger with broken bone
What happened
Caught in door. No I thought it was just a jam but it continued to hurt swell days later and would not straighten out. Worried, I didn't want it to heal this way I went to hand specialist. An xray revealed mallet finger with a fracture. The specialist said it was the worst mallet he seen. Probably due to the bone also being broken torn off. It is now in a splint in hyper extended position to avoid ligaments from tearing more.
What I'd Do Differently
- I should have gone to the doctor right away but it was still early enough not to make too much of a difference.
