a week later skin is peeling

Location of the injury

Right hand

What kind of injury is it

The injury is on my fingers and its a second degree burn it's now a week old and the skin is now starting to peel.

What happened

Lighting the water heater my hand was caught inside when it blew. I had to go to the ER and they said I had second degree burns to my fingers. They applied silver sulfadiazine which help the burning cool down. Also they give me pain medication and then wrapped my hand.

What I'd Do Differently

  • Next time get someone else to light my water heater. However I went to the ER 30 mins after it happened. Prior to that I kept my hand under cool water.
