Frostbite is very similar to a burn injury; the only difference is whether the damage was caused by extreme heat or extreme cold.

These reader submitted frostbite pictures help you to identify frostbite, and reading their stories may surprise you how much damage frostbite can cause. You may be surprised to learn that not all frostbite comes from climbing Mount Everest (although Everest has certainly caused her share of frostbite).
