No Way It's a Mosquito!

Day 1: eye swelled shut, swelled forehead, nose, cheek

Tell us where your bite is (arm, leg, nose, whatever)

Why I think it's a spider bite

Well, I don't think a mosquito could do this much damage, though one never knows! I'm betting on a spider over a skeeter for sure.

What happened

I didn't feel the culprit on my face at all, was walking underneath a treed area so I did have branches touching me occasionally. Whatever it was, it was a nasty little thing!

The next day my eye was swollen shut and the swelling had moved up into my hairline on the forehead and temples.

Doctor put me on prednisone for 5 days plus antibiotic for 7. On day 2 the swelling had let up ever so slightly on the first eye, letting it open 1/4 open, but the swelling has moved into the bridge of my nose and into the other eye! It's also moved down so that I have slight bulldog jowl on the right side. I look worse today than yesterday! Day 2 doctor visit: doc has told me to take it easy and not to go outdoors for the next 2-3 days. I definitely am experiencing a very bad reaction and an infection.

Use a cold compress whenever you can, it does make it feel better and also helps with swelling and itch alike. I cried like a baby on day 2 upon seeing my face in the mirror (what I could see of it out of my 2 swollen eyes that is!!!!) I'm only on day 2 but the doc says it gets uglier before it gets better, so I'm gonna take his word on that one.
