Lyme Disease?

1-2 days after

Tell us where your bite is (arm, leg, nose, whatever)

Calf of left leg

Why I think it's a spider bite

There was a center with a raised ring spreading outward, which I noticed because of the itching. The rest of the area is red, hot to touch and very inflamed. Painful.

What happened

Between mowing my lawn and going in my dark dank basement, in a span of two days, the picture shows why I went to the doctor immediately. He diagnosed cellulitis and prescribed antibiotics. The blister showed up later in the evening after I applied some Melaleuca oil. This diagnosis does not give me the cause! He thought possible Lyme disease.

Advice

  • First, I'm going to fumigate my home and get rid of junk.
  • Be more careful when doing yard work.
  • Wear sturdier clothing (jeans, long sleeves, gloves, hat).
  • Use insect repellant.
  • To everyone, always check with your doctor, get advice from others, but still follow your instincts.

Rod Brouhard, First Aid Guide, says:

If you choose to go to a doctor, be sure to listen to what she has to say. If you don't understand what your doctor is telling you, ask questions. Remember, the doctor works for you.

If you question something the doctor is telling you, don't be afraid to get another opinion -- especially if your medical condition is getting worse.
