Itching and Redness Often from Allergies

As good as a webcam photo gets

Tell us where your bite is (arm, leg, nose, whatever)

Arm

Why I think it's a spider bite

Its swollen and red and itchy. I have been bitten before and it was the same redness. I sprayed my bedroom and bed with Raid and never received a bite again -- until I went to my friends house and woke up the next day with a swollen arm and itchy skin.

What happened

I was sleeping one night and felt something bite me. Immediately, I started getting itchy and had pain in my arm. The next day it was swollen and itchy and red. I haven't gone to see a doctor, but if the bite gets worse I will go see a doctor.

Advice

  • I learned to never scratch at a bite cause it hurts.
  • Also i notice it spreads when you scratch at it

Rod Brouhard, First Aid Guide, says:

Itching and redness are often symptoms of allergic reactions. Allergies can be to spiders or bug bites, but almost anything can lead to an allergic reaction. Going to the doctor for minor redness and itching isn't usually necessary, but antihistamines like Benedryl will sometimes help itching.
