Mystery spider bite day 2

Why I think it's a spider bite

At first I thought it was a bedbug bite or something similar, but after looking at it closer I could clearly see two puncture wounds like those left by fangs.

What happened

I'm pretty sure it bit me in my sleep, and the thought of a fair sized spider crawling on me in my bed while I sleep creeps me out. I have no problem with spiders, as long as I don't have to share my bed with them!

I didn't even notice it at first. It wasn't until I was in the shower and the hot water made it sting a bit that I even noticed the mark. I didn't bother seeing a doctor as it was such a small wound and it wasn't itchy or in any pain.

Advice

  • shake out all bedding and move things around to try to disturb it!
  • I haven't actually seen the spider, but I make a point to disturb any 'safe' area in my room now at least once through the day, hopefully it will want to move to a 'safer' home (not my bed!!)

Like I always say, unless you catch the spider in the act, there's no way to know whom to blame. This reader might be on the right track. A closer look at the pictures (click on the images to see them full size) shows the "fang marks" the reader describes.
