Definition: Ventricular tachycardia is a recurring loop in the conduction pathways of the heart leading to rapid contractions of the ventricles. This causes the loss of blood flow from the inability of the ventricles to adequately fill with blood between contractions. The worst cases of ventricular tachycardia lead to cardiac arrest.
