Definition: Ventricular fibrillation occurs when the heart muscle begins to quiver erratically, leading to a loss of blood flow through the heart (cardiac arrest).

The treatment for ventricular fibrillation includes defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
