Definition: Concussion is the most common of all closed head injuries and usually has little or no outward signs. Sometimes, victims will complain of headaches or blurred vision. In many cases, concussions will cause a victim to lose consciousness (pass out) but the victim will usually recover without any obvious long-term consequences. Concussions are common in combat operations, and more information about the consequences of concussions and multiple concussions is coming from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
