When you don't want your little ones to go through certain doors, they (of course) always will. We try to follow the little critters around everywhere they go, but there are limits to our energy -- not to mention sanity.

Keeping kids from entering through doors that lead to a flight of stairs can help prevent falls. If you have an in-house entrance to your garage, making that door knob impossible to use can protect your child from a host of dangers, such as tools and chemicals.

Here are a few ways to keep your rugrats right where you want them.

These use a "side-pinch" design. Kids have to have the strength to pinch both sides of the cover together in order to get a grip on the door knob -- and they usually don't.

Not all doors have knobs. For your sliding doors, this flip lock will keep Junior in the house.

For accordion-style closet doors and shutters, these locks simply sit atop the door and can slide out of the way to open.
