Hello? 911? I Need a Cheeseburger

By February 27, 2013

Follow me on:

Gregory Jackson Sr. reportedly called 911 nine times in New Castle, Indiana, which got him arrested. The 52 year old man's only complaint was that he wanted a cheeseburger. Police were finally sent to his home reportedly because the dispatcher was afraid he simply needed food.

Of course, it took nine calls to get there. Here's a snippet of the transcript from the Yahoo! News story:

Dispatcher: 911, Your emergency.

Jackson: Yes, I just spoke with you. You hung up on me.

Dispatcher: Well I asked if you had an emergency. You said no, you needed a cheeseburger. So we don't take cheeseburger orders.

Calling 911 when it is not an emergency can get you into serious trouble. In this case, the police did arrest Jackson, but reportedly not for the 911 calls. He had an outstanding warrant.
