Chest Pain Can't Wait Until After the Party

By November 14, 2012

Don't wait.

Cuts and burns aren't the only disasters waiting to happen on Thanksgiving. Heart attacks also threaten to ruin your holiday meal.

There can be a tendency to ignore danger signs during busy holidays. Who wants to interrupt preparations for a visit to the emergency department?

Chest pain isn't something that should ever be ignored. Indeed, you shouldn't even wait to go the doctor's office. Chest pain warrants a call to 911. Period. Don't wait and don't ignore it.

Holiday celebrations aren't worth jeopardizing your health. If you have family members complaining of discomfort in their chests, encourage them to go to the ER -- or call 911 for them. Consider it an early Christmas present.
