Peanut Butter and Salmonella, Here We Go Again
King Nut and Parnell's Pride peanut butter should not be eaten. King Nut Companies has recalled all peanut butter from lot codes beginning with "8".
Unlike the Peter Pan recall from 2007, King Nut is sold in bulk to restaurants, nursing homes, hospitals, schools and bakeries. Officials at FDA and CDC say Salmonella poisoning has been reported in nearly 400 people in 42 states. King Nut is recalling the peanut butter after Salmonella was found in an open 5 gallon container of peanut butter at a facility.
The hardest hit states with more than 20 cases of Salmonella poisoning each are California, Ohio, Massachussetts, Minnesota and Michigan. Since the outbreak seems to be linked to peanut butter at restaurants and cafeterias, now might be a good time to try something new on the menu if your usual lunch includes peanut butter.

Comments
Happy New Year Rod and others,
I just wanted to comment on the Salmonella Peanut Butter poisoning… I was struck back in 2007 from Great Value’s brand (Walmart) and it was just terrible! I am a mature gentleman so perhaps it hit me somewhat harder.
I felt like I was just going to die and I was sometimes wishing that I would it was so bad. So please, everyone, just be careful. You don’t want to go through the agony that I experienced and that I am sure others are now doing. It’s really something terrible!!
I think that I am going to lay off the PB&J’s for awhile… :0(
