World's Largest First Aid Class
St. John's Ambulance is celebrating its 125th anniversary in Canada by trying to set a world record.
Currently, the largest first aid class ever recorded by the fine people at Guinness World Records was 917. According to a statement, St. John's is attempting to pack 1,125 people into the gym at the University of Lethbridge.
"One of the Guinness World Record rules" said Patty Wright, Instructor and Program Coordinator with St. John and World’s Largest First Aid Class (WLFAC) project leader, in the statement, "is that only people who do not have a current First Aid Certificate can qualify as participants towards the record."
Participants will learn CPR fundamentals in a special 1 hour course. They will not receive a certificate.
The special record-setting class will be held May 10, 2008.
